Trail building

We try to provide tools, gloves and other equipment needed for trail building, but you are also welcome to bring your own tools such as rake, clippers, pike, shovel, or even a brush cutter. At a minimum you must dress appropriately for the weather and wear rugged hiking shoes, or gumboots during the wet season. We also recommend to bring your own drink and snack, if desired.

Note that participants must be a CLTBS member and hold a valid membership.

Social group rides

Our social groups rides are everyone interested to explore Fairservice Fun with other experienced riders from the CLTBS with detailed knowledge of all trails:

  • All skill levels are welcome.
  • Attendees must bring their own gear.
  • Everyone must wear a helmet to participate in the ride.
  • Attendees must be a CLTBS member and hold a valid membership
  • Trails are chosen to suite the entire group. If we have more than one guide and enough people, we split into separate groups based on skill level and potentially ride some sections together as well.
  • Everyone stays together
  • The guide carries basic first aid and bike repair supplies
  • In the event of an accident that requires evacuation from the trails, the guide will call 911 to coordinate evacuation with emergency services using Trailforks to provide exact location of accident and best route to get there

Youth rides

Our youth group rides are four-hour long mountain bike intermediate coaching and guiding session in the Fairservice Fun trail network for youths ages 10-16. The event is free to attend. A maximum of 7 youths can register for each session:

  • All skill levels are welcome.
  • Attendees must bring their own gear.
  • Everyone must wear a helmet to participate in the ride.
  • Attendees must be a CLTBS member and hold a valid membership
  • Trails will be chosen that suite the entire group
  • Everyone stays together
  • Every bike is safety checked at drop off to ensure that the equipment is in good working order. If bikes are not in good working order the youth will not be able to participate until it is repaired.
  • Everyone is required to carry water and a small snack.
  • The guide is a certified mountain bike instructor and carries basic first aid and bike repair supplies
  • In the event of an accident that requires evacuation from the trails, the guide will call 911 to coordinate evacuation with emergency services using Trailforks to provide exact location of accident and best route to get there
