If you love exploring the woodland trails around Cowichan Lake, help us build them! On Saturday, October 16, and Sunday, October 17, the Cowichan Lake Trail Blazers Society (CLTBS) is sponsoring a hands-on trail-building workshop taught by renowned Whistler trail builder Mark Woods of Trail Holistics. The Saturday morning session starts at 9 a.m. at the Cowichan Lake Recreation Centre with some background on basic trail building. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, you’ll put theory into action actually building trails in the woods, so come dressed for the work and the weather. All participants will receive special CLTBS work gloves. The class is free for volunteer trail builders. To sign up, email Julia@desmoinesrowing.org by Friday, October 8. Since we have space for only a limited number of attendees, please wait for an email confirmation of your registration. For more information about the CLTBS, go to cowichanlaketrailblazers.com.
