Looking back and moving forward

Looking back and moving forward

It’s already 2026 and a new trail building season is coming up, and thats a good opportunity to see how amazingly far we have come:

Check out our Fairservice Fun trail network status update from May 2025 to get an idea and have a look at more great photos of new bridges, cleared out trails, benches ,and other achievements like our CLTBS YouTube channel.

Currently our work is focussed mostly on clearing debris and windfall and improving drainage, but we also have some great plans for new trails and new features. To move forward with all our plans and even just to maintain the current quality of the network we need all your help. So don’t wait – become a member or even a join us for trailbuilding event.

And of course we also hope you enjoy the network for your hikes and rides, maybe even join us for a group ride later in spring or early summer, or even compete at the great trail running event from the Vancouver Island Trail Running Series on the 9th of May!

See you out there

Trail Building Day

Trail Building Day

This last Sunday, March 31st we had a great trail building day with a terrific turnout of locals volunteering to cleaning up and restoring many of our local trails.

With much of the storm damage still left over from last December, it was time to hit the trails and start the clearing.  We had teams head out and start the process off clearing downed trees, bush, branches, debris and more. Our crew had a successful day of grooming many of our local trails. it’s hard to believe, but by the end of day, many of the trails that were completely inaccessible were completely cleared.

A big thank you to everyone that came out. There’s so much work still to be done.  Keep your eyes out on our Facebook and Events pages for upcoming trail building days. If you haven’t already done so, make sure to join our Facebook Page and get involved in the discussion!
