BC Trails Day is coming up and mountain bike and hiking clubs all across BC are celebrating. Of course, we can’t miss out on that. We are are building a raised trail over some seasonally wet sections on Terra Nova. This is a big project and we need your help. Come and join us for some build fun and refreshments afterwards.

Let’s look at the details.

We meet at 9:00 am on the 6th of June 2026 at the Fairservice Main entrance to our Fairservice Fun network – just drive through Lake Cowichan towards Honeymoon Bay, the entrance is shortly after the rec center on the left. Our team will be there to sort out directions for more parking if needed.

Register via email to registration@cowichanlaketrailblazers.com to let us know you will attend.

Car pooling will allow us all to get to the “Base” of our operation on the intersection of FSM32 and Terra Nova. From there we will walk in with our gear and “Build” a whole bunch of solid foundation spots for the planned raised walkway. Professional and certified builders from CLTBS and Cowichan Trails Stewardship Society (CTSS) will be on site to help guide us. In fact, our amazing friends from the CTSS out of North Cowichan are looking after Mount Tzouhalem, Maple Mountain, and Mount Prevost will bring some of their expertise and enthusiasm to our joint work party.

We plan to build until around 1pm, but really it is completely up to you how long you want to help out. Any carried bucket, cut brush helps, or raked meter of trail is a welcome assist. We will see how much we get done, but it could be all the way to posts on the ground, frame for the walkway in place, and planking on. Ready for a test.

After our build we will provide some drinks and snacks, and see if anyone wants to go for an exploratory ride or hike.
